Rain and wind readings

Post by garybuska »

My question is why does my display show 3.0 inches of rain for today but cumulus shows 0.0 inches in 24 hours.
Why is this?
I also do not understand the wind readings at all.
Under the column Wind F0
latest wind reads 2.2 but under the recent extremes column the high wind shows .7
is this correct
I use a WS2090 display

If you zip up the diags folder and attach it, I'll take a look. Note that the 'last 24 hours' figure relies on your station's rain counter behaving sensibly, which sometimes they do not. What did today's rain show in Cumulus at the same time?

'Latest' is gust speed, 'high wind' is the average. See the FAQ: http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/FAQ#What_d ... tations.3F

You have apparently told Cumulus not to use data from your station's logger ("Use data logger" on the station settings screen not set):

7/16/2014 20:18:08.733 : UseDataLogger not set, switch to normal running

So when you started it up on the evening of the 16th, having closed it down on the evening of the 13th, it didn't attempt to download and log the required missing data, so was unable to do the 'last 24 hour' calculation at that point.

Unless you have some particular reason for not having 'use data logger' set, I recommend that you turn it back on as soon as convenient.

Thanks Sandy
I thought that the data logger did not apply to me which is why i did not select it
I will make the change as soon as I get home.
I thought it was something I was doing wrong.
Having being a programmer myself some time ago I know how difficult it is to make instructions so every one under stands them.
I was getting to technical and thought the data logger was a different devise that I did not have.
