Cumulus Support

Hi

After years of Cumulus working on my WindowsXP stand-alone weather PC, thought I really should transfer to my main PC which is running Windows7

I have downloaded a fresh new copy of Cumulus and plugged the USB cable into the back of my PC, but despite checking 10 com ports by manually entering the numbers, nothing happens and I get error code 32701

I thought I would install Weatherlink as it has an autodetect function, thats gone through 18 com ports and still cant find the weather data from the Davis Console ( I know the console is working as I can easily plugged back into my old machione and works straight away)

Anybody know where I am going wrong, I fear it will be something simple and obvious

I thought as I had install weatherlink it would be in there ?

Ground to halt now

Loaded a fresh weatherlink update, but cannot install the driver update for the USB

Rebooted PC 3 times

Started from scratch again and it now works

Finally giving up on Virtual VP and sticking with Cumulus as my one and only software

Must be a few years since I started trialling it !

I started writing it when I moved to Wanlockhead in the summer of 2003 and got my first weather station. The first public release was 27th January 2004 (I missed the fact that it the was 10th anniversary earlier this year), so as you were the first user apart from me, you would have been using it from some time in the autumn of 2003, I would guess.

See if I can find some of my first data files !

Thats my next task - moving the data across

found my oldest txt file Feb 2004, cant find anything earlier

Still got old files backed up

Keep that file - it'll be worth a fortune in years to come!
