Help correcting an error in the data

Post by Yonkin »

Hi.
I am new to this – only set up Cumulus 2 days ago but am trying very hard to sort things out. I have looked at the lots of posting but cannot seem to find the answer to my problem but sure it must be out there...

I has Cumulus running but forgot it was minimised so I clicked and opened up another copy – which I shut down in about 2 seconds. This I think generated a wrong reading of “High Gust” speed. As can be seen from the screen attached. I wanted to correct this value – but cannot seem to be able to do this!!!!.

The Dayfile.txt does not seem to hold today’s values – fine. The “all time records” allows me to change this to say a new value but that does not get updated on the general display.

Again I can (and have) change the value in “this month’s records” but that also does not update the display.

What am I doing wrong and did opening a second copy of the software generate the problem?

Thanks Ken

Assuming your station is a Fine Offset as in your profile, and not a Davis as in the section you've posted in, then yes, opening a second copy will cause erroneous data.

Today's highs and lows as displayed in the 'Recent extremes' panel are held in today.ini; you'll need to stop Cumulus and edit the file in a text editor.

Just to show your efforts were not in vain - made up a value of 10.3 - thanks again
