bogus data
My weather station (Davis VP) managed to record some bogus data points (-90 F temperatures) and, of course, recorded these as new records.
How do I remove this bogus data from the records and go back to what is real?

Re: bogus data
The easiest way to correct all-time records etc in that situation is to stop Cumulus and find the latest backup folder from before the bogus data. Copy the required ini files from that folder into the data folder.
Alternatively, you can use the editors in Cumulus to correct the data.

Re: bogus data
Thanks, Steve!
Cumulus runs so well that I almost forget about it!
Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to have fixed it.

Re: bogus data
If you mean in the all-time records, under View -> Highs and Lows -> All time, those are held in alltime.ini, so copying that file from the last backup before the problem, while Cumulus isn't running, will fix that.
If it's taking a screen shot that you're not sure about, there is information in the wiki - http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Screen_capture
If it's attaching a screen shot, look below the reply area when posting a reply for the 'Upload attachment' area. Choose a file, then click 'add the file'.

Re: bogus data
I've copied that in (alltime.ini) but then it does download data -- could that be messing it up?

Re: bogus data
Are you sure that the alltime.ini you're using doesn't have the problem in it? It's well after 6.40 am where you are, so that figure must be there already, rather than downloaded afterwards - unless you're making it download previous data using the timestamp in today.ini; you're not copying today.ini from the backup as well, are you?

Re: bogus data
Had copied all the ini files from the backup. Now did not copy today.ini plus deleted it from the data folder and at least new records (i.e. -90) aren't showing when starting cumulus.
Thanks again. Sorry for the inconvenience

Re: bogus data
Sorry, my fault; it hadn't occurred to me that you would need today.ini from the backup because today's highs would be affected, but using today.ini would mean that the bad data would just be downloaded again.
