Fine Offset station not found!

Post by Creation »

I have just downloaded the newest update from 1.9.3 to 1.9.4.
Everything was working fine before the download.
Upon doing this all my highs and lows data was changed to extremitys (which I have subsequently fixed via the data files) and I then receive an error message saying:
"Fine Offset station not found! - check connections and restart Cumulus"
I have checked my station configuration settings and everything is the same as before apart from the VP Type.
Before the download I had 3 types, serial, USB and TCP/IP, of which USB was selected.
Since the new download I only have 2 types, serial and TCP/IP. Neither of which are selected.
I always transfer my data via USB.
Can someone please confirm this is why I am getting the error message?
And also how do I fix this problem.
Many thanks

The 'VP type' setting is for Davis stations only (see the help, or 'hover' over the box). Fine Offset stations are always USB, so there is no setting to tell Cumulus that.

When Cumulus displays the 'Fine Offset station not found' message, it is because Windows says that a Fine Offset station is not connected. Try unplugging and reconnecting the station (with Cumulus stopped) to see if you get the Windows "device connected" sound. Make sure you don't have two copies of Cumulus running (or Cumulus and some other software). You could also try rebooting the PC.

What type of Fine Offset station do you have? You've selected the type with solar sensors - does your station have solar sensors? This will not affect the 'station not found' issue, but would cause invalid data if the wrong type is selected.
