Does Cumulus support this new version of the 8681 with Wifi connection?
Best wishes,
Arthur

No. This is the same as the station also sold as the WS-1000-Wifi. As I understand it, it doesn't have a PC interface, the Wi-Fi connection is only for uploading to the web (Wunderground etc), so there is no way that any software can directly download data from it.

Many thanks Steve, this is what I thought so I won't be buying one of those.
Best wishes,
Arthur

This is incorrect.
You can specify the server to push data, which could be a local machine, to process as you feel fit.
I have just acquired this`PRO` weather station and have no long-term experience to divulge, but first impressions are favourable. The display is excellent and the graphing of trends makes downloading data less important. You should take a look. ;)

I think it was pointed out on another thread about the same station that it can upload to a web site - which can of course be on a local PC. But there is still no way that software can directly download data from it, as far as I'm aware. To get the data into Cumulus you would need to parse the data that it produces and convert it to a form that Cumulus could handle, e.g. an easyweather.dat file, which is something of a kludge.

Thank you for enlightening me. I must admit to somewhat over-excitement on receiving my weather station and posting hastily to swing the balance more in favour of my purchase. Please be assured that, when work permits, I will be investigating your web-site further and looking at the data retrieval issue in more detail. Maybe this device can be used successfully and increase the choice available to the enthusiast.

I have just aquired one of these cheap weather stations and have noticed some strange values, but am not up to chasing figures here and there, So for now, I am happy to let it do its thing.
