My rainfall YTD is short

Post by aznetcowboy »

Last March, when we had our last rain, one of the dates did not record properly. I have been trying to correct this ever since, but I have be unable to do so. I know some would say being short by .12" is no big deal, but when I know my official reading YTD should be .85" instead of .73", it is a big deal.

In Arizona, .12" is a lot of rain, especially seeing as we have not had any since mid-March. My reading using my CoCoRaHS rain gauge is .85" YTD, but via the VP2 gauge it is only .73". How can I correct this?

Use the dayfile.txt editor in Cumulus to edit the total for the day in March which has zero rain total currently, and set it to 0.12, then restart Cumulus to get the annual total recalculated.

Thanks! I finally found the correct entry which based on my reports to CoCoRaHS I found it was a overnight event (March 2 and 3) where the March 2nd amount was there but not the early morning amount on the 3rd. Once I figured that out, I was able to correct it.

Thanks again for the assist.
