bugreport

Post by abarnett1934 »

Hi all,
Just set up my weather station and uploaded to my website.
When I try to upload again I get a bug report (Attached)
If I try web update I get the error message ftp connect timeout.
This is excellent software and I would like my site to update automatically evry 5 mins.
Any Ideas?
Best wishes,
Arthur

This is fixed in the 1.8.8 beta (see the Announcements and News section of the forum). When I say 'fixed', it actually just traps and ignores the error, because I can't work out how it can be occurring - the error is that another process has the moon image file open; I assume the 'other' process is actually Cumulus itself, which suggests that two uploads are happening at the same time.

Anyway, try the beta and see how you get on.

Many thanks Steve,
the site is now up and running well.
Thanks for all your help.
Will donate as soon as my debit card is renewed. (Just had it used by someone else.)
Best wishes,
Arthur

Just downloaded the lastest beta Ver 841 and force an FTP update from the file tab. This brought the normal box up and connected. On my system it usually gives the list of what it is sending then logs off. It appears, on my system, that it is not writing back to this box anymore. So all it gives now is the connection and the logging off no other data appears to be written. It was useful to be able to monitor what was going on, is this not happening now by design or just a quirk of my system? The FTP log shows all is well and the website does get updated correctly.

I see the same result -- I only see the Loggin on & Off messsages. I would prefer to see it list each file as it uploads it. If this has been removed on purpose, maybe we could have a preference you could toggle to see this list as it is processed.

I had to remove it temporarily as the ftp processing is now in a separate thread, and you have jump through a few hoops to update the display when you're not running in the main thread. Now that the new ftp code seems to be working OK, I'll put back the code that updates the display.
