My Bad Vision Causes Cululus Problems

Because I have bad vision, I run at 1280 x 800 resolution with 125% size increase. My Task Bar is on the bottom and doesn't hide. I'm running Windows 7.
Years ago, I wrote an application that attempted to display properly in 3 different screen resolutions, so I know how difficult it can be to make this work correctly. Some things should be easy to fix, others are likely too hard.
1. The main screen doesn't fit top to bottom. I run with "Start Minimized". The only I can see the bottom status line is to not start minimized and have my task bar set to "Auto Hide". It would be nice if there was an option to shrink the height of the box by making the text at the top smaller or getting rid of some fields. For example, The title could be in a smaller font, and I don't use or need the "Forecast".
2. The VIEW -> Graphs display starts up too small to show the full width. Each time I use this display, I have to move and resize it. The problem could be fixed if Cumulus would remember the last screen position and size for the Graphs display.
If anyone has found any workarounds for us people with vision problems, please let me know.
