Hi Steve,
The thought crossed my mind that should my netbook fail then I could lose my entire weather history. So I intend to take a frequent backup to a memory stick.
Do I only need to backup the data and backup folders or are there any important files in the Cumulus folder I should also secure?

Re: What files to backup to avoid a catastrophe?
It's probably not essential to back up the backup folder, if you're backing up from a known good position, if you see what I mean. Really, it's just the data folder you need. And maybe cumulus.ini to avoid having to re-enter your config. But if you do want to include the backup folder, you may as well back up the entire Cumulus hierarchy - which is actually what I do.

if you have custom made html pages,i suggest that you make a backup of the html pages that finishes with a T like ''indexT.html''

Hi Steve,
Backing up the whole Cumulus structure is probably easiest - thanks. Better to have too much than too little.
Hi Risiss,
I don't have a website at present but that's good advice for when I do.

Yes, but as we've discussed, those shouldn't be in the Cumulus folder anyway.risiss wrote:if you have custom made html pages,i suggest that you make a backup of the html pages that finishes with a T like ''indexT.html''
