Trying to get a handle on the program. I have found an entry for heating (and cooling) degree days in the dayfile.txt, but I have not been able to find where the program might be totaling the number of heating degree days for the season (July 1 to June 30 is the period used by the NWS for its tally). :groan:

Am I missing it somewhere or would it be possible to add it to the program :?:

Heating degree days are valuable for estimating fuel consumption,

Heating and Cooling Degree Days are a relatively recent addition to Cumulus. Currently, to get the figures you want, you could either load a copy of dayfile.txt into a spreadsheet program and total the columns for the dates you want, or use the monthly totals in the annual "NOAA style" reports. The annual totals in there are for calendar years, so for Heating Degree Days you would have to total the months yourself for the period you want.
