I hate it when you triple check your script and even print it out to check and it still has errors!!!!
Another big mistake was to include a delete all Jpg's on dusk, found out the hard way if a line of that script fails to copy then, they WILL be deleted!!!!
Lost all of yesterday's and some of todays.
Main 2 errors, set incorrect delete that deleted the switch text file and had a move command that failed if file name didn't exist.
Fixed now, but lost a whole day of timelapse and 5 hours today.
Suppose that not bad in over 3 months!!!!!

I've done the same myself.
I was running a few tests and commented out the section that did the copies. Finished tests but forget to remove comments, no images for a day.
I now keep two copies of every image/timelapse. One on the camera (160GB hard disk) and one on my Linux server.
You can never have too many backups

Think I might start doing that.
Its setup to keep the jpgs for around 12 hours now.
Might copy all jpgs to another folder on NAS and manual delete when needed
I have every lapse backed up on NAS and YouTube.

Ive decided to remove the schedule for motion detection in the day time, way too many hits from clouds and birds. Instead i'll risk the 17 second between images to capture lightning saving them to another drive for manual checking and image backup.
Simple job to end of the final convert script to copy all Jpgs into a date named folder on my NAS.
Apart from that, my final scripts are working as they should.
A little time tweaking required and fixing of course.......
