Trend Page Error / Possible Data Corruption

Good Afternoon Steve,

I decided today, that I would move the Rain Gauge to a different location, after getting inaccurate measurements.
It is now on a flat level surface, mounted 2ft above the ground and exposed to the Rain.

Details available at : http://www.weeleyweatherstation.info

I was unable to unplug the Rain Gauge data cable during the changeover to its new location. I therefore decided to remove the rainfall values afterwards.

When everything was all installed, I went inside to remove the Rainfall recorded during the changeover, I did this by editing the Today file.
I have now found that my trend graphs have failed to load correctly.

I was wondering if you could take a look for to see what I have done wrong?

Today File attached.

Many Thanks Steve

Jason

You've put a negative value for the Start figure, which is not going to work. It needs to be somewhere near the current rain counter in your station, which you can find from the jul09log.txt file (the 'total rainfall counter' field). You need to set it so that the difference between the latest rain counter and the start value is equal to today's rainfall.

However, that isn't the cause of the missing data on your graphs. Those get plotted at start up from the data in the various fields in jul09log.txt, so you probably have a set of data missing from around 1900 yesterday to 1600 today. Did you have Cumulus stopped between those two times? If so, it should have downloaded that data from the station when you started it up, as usual. Unless you edited the Timestamp in today.ini for some reason?

Hi
I wonder if you did your editting using Excel - I've found it can change the date format to dd/mm/yyyy without you realising. Highlight the column and format to "custom" dd/mm/yy.

Hi,
I didnt, but thankyou for the words of advice though. I will remember for future reference!

Your Homebuilt Daylight Detector project seems to be coming on a treat, I would be very pleased to buy one off you, when it is all complete!

Thanks Again Alan,

Jason
