Spike removal / calibration settings what values do you use?

Just thought it may be of interest and of help to all of us who experience the random FineOffset spikes
in our data, to compare our calibration values we use for Spike Removal.

By doing this it may be possible to come up with a 'common' set of values that users have tested
and know work, rather than having to take a wild guess at a value and hope it removes the spike,
but does not interfere with true data.

My current Spike Removal Calibration values are:

Temperature: 2.8 °C
Wind Gust: 25.0 m/s
Wind Speed: 999.0 m/s <- default value
Humidity: 10.0%
Pressure: 999.0 mb <- default value
Max Rain Rate: 220.0 mm/hr
Max Hourly Rain: 999.0 mm <- default vale

Also any thoughts / comments are welcome.

Mark

From the results of previous discussions with others on this forum, figures should represent impossible figures over several hours or even over a whole day. I think one or two of the figures mentioned so far could in some circumstances be genuine figures between 2 readings. I've taken the very worst case scenario, in which I might only get 2 readings in 24 hours.

My temperature spike is 18 C, beyond any difference between the lowest and highest daily figures.

Wind gusts can easily go from zero to a high speed and therefore my figure (35 m/s) is well beyond my highest wind gust speed, or indeed the UK record.

Wind speed is an average and should not vary so much; my spike is 10 m/s

Humidity is 50% which I've never come across in a single day.

Pressure is 20 mb which is way beyond what I've recorded in a single day

Max rain rate is 300 mm/hr which is beyond any figure I have come across

Max hourly rate is 150 mm - way above the UK maximum.

I always make sure to log the 'error', so I can check it myself
The only time I have had a lot of spike problems is when I moved the console location. Moving it back to its original position got rid of them.
