Does anyone know where I could get a replacement transmitter for my WH1090?
If a replacement TX is not possible (mine died - put batteries in the wrong way around and smoke came out...), what are peoples views on a replacement (maybe slightly up-market) weather station?
Thanks

Re: WH1090 transmitter replacement
Hi Dave,
You haven't stated a location (Country) in your profile and there are numerous "versions" of the WH x0xx family of stations manufactured by Fine Offset. There can be three different radio frequencies, the Radio Controlled Clock receiver, and several different (incompatible) "data protocols", even for stations with the same model number. Maplin, Clas Ohlson and Walters and Stanton (AO) have sold replacement transmitters here in the UK, but the risks of getting an "incompatible" version are quite high, so generally not recommended. There are a number of relevant threads in the FO section of this forum.
The general view appears to be that there are no "better" stations than the FOs at a comparable, or slightly higher, price. Also, most of FO's other sensors are compatible and may come in useful as "spares" later.
Cheers, Alan.
