All Time Wind Run Record

Hi Steve,

Just started using Cumulus a few months ago. Very good software.

I was looking at the records section today and wondered if it would be worth adding the longest wind run ever recorded for a particular day?

Cheers

Mike

Yes, there are quite a few additional all-time records that I'm intending to add to Cumulus 2, including wind run, humidity etc. In fact, because I'm using a database to store the data, it should be possible to have all-time records for just about everything.

Sounds great. As for the database, does this mean there will be an embedded SQL server for version 2?

Yes (effectively) - at the moment I am working with SQLite (as recommended by a Cumulus user; I'm afraid I forget who it was) and it's looking promising.

Yipee -- we can do so much more with it ;)

At the moment I am using PHP to parse a text file for historic data from the dayfile. I'm just about there with it but SQLLite would be lovely in the future.

Can't wait

Using an SQL back end should be an good improvement. Especially for backups, speed of data recovery when using the Select-A-Graph function and general reporting using SQL.
