Select A Graph - Export as Jpeg

Post by 6719jason »

Good Afternoon Steve,

I hope your Business Trip went well, I am posting today to ask for a small addition to the next build of Cumulus V1.

I wondered if you could add a feature to the 'Select A Graph' Feature within Cumulus, in which you can export/save the Current 'Select A Graph' as a Jpeg file. This would be very handy for highlighting Errors/Exceptional Weather.
Last Week, My Station and A Friends Station, both experienced a sudden Drop & Rise in Pressure, to see if they were similar, I wanted to send an image of the 'Select A Graph' showing the sudden drop & rise. I managed to do it by 'Print Screening' and saving as a Jpeg, it was after doing this that, I came across the Idea of a Save As feature.

Many Thanks Steve,

Jason

JPEG isn't really very good for graphs etc, it's more suited to photographic images. Cumulus currently has no JPEG capability.

I could probably do 'save as PNG' fairly easily as the necessary code is already there for the 'normal' graphs for web uploads, so it would just require a bit of plumbing to provide a new menu item and a 'save' dialogue.
