Wind Guage shows red zone in excess of 100MPH

Hi I'm new to any kind of weather station but wanted to help my lRC Model flying club out with local weather.
I have bought a Maplins N96FY. I have tried my best to read as much as possible but in some cases I find it a bit difficult to understand.
I run Weather Station as supplied and now run Cumulus as it looks more impressive and hope to link it to our web site so members can see the wind strength and direction etc.
At first it seemed perfect but recently it shows a red zone in excess of 100MPH and frequently records gusts of 60MPH plus even though there is little or no wind at the time.
I have tried various settings and read with interest other articles which say "You can also use the 'spike removal' settings on the calibration page, and Cumulus will then filter out large changes in readings"
Okay I have looked at this but can you please provide guidance on typically what I should change it from and too?
I appreciate your enthusiasm and applaude such a brilliant piece of software.
Any help is much appreciated.

Have you looked at the help for the calibration settings screen? You need to choose a value representing a difference between successive readings which is unlikely to occur in reality. Start high (say 20 m/s) and work your way down if you still have the problem. If you use too low a value you will filter out genuine readings.

If you get the problem frequently you may have an issue with interference between the transmitter and the console, so you could look at repositioning them, if possible.
