Error in "New Record"

My "New Record" entry recorded today : Highest temperature 56.6C and highest apparent temperature 75.1C. I don't think so!! :o

Could the batteries in the thermo sensor need replacing perhaps? They were installed June 2012. The station has worked perfectly OK up to now. There is no way of checking battery condition. The DCF77 radio controlled time icon is showing on the Base Station. All other functions are OK.

Weather Station is a Lacrosse 2350.

Can anyone help please?

If this is the first time this has happened to you, then it could be the batteries. But I know next to nothing about La Crosse stations.

Note that the 'spike removal' settings on the calibration screen work with La Crosse stations, and may have prevented this erroneous value being recorded - depending on whether it was actually a one-off 'spike' or not.

Thank you for your reply Steve. The "Spike removal" setting is 999.0C,(not quite sure what that means). I will try renewing batteries. I had a similar erroneous reading today.

The 999 setting is the default and means that you haven't set a value so it is effectively turned off.
