Many thanks for taking the time in writing this excellent html and sharing it with us all.

Its thanks to people like you (and Steve of course) that my website looks as good as it does - or indeed that I even have a website at all - as I would have no idea of where to start...although I am getting better at taking other peoples code and modifying it to my own needs!

Just a minor thing - being as fussy as I am - did you miss out the line;

<li class="group">Records</li>

from under <ul id="records" title="Records" class="panel"> in the last section on purpose?

Its just that all other categories have a title above the info where Records was missing...

Told you I was fussy... ;)

Thanks again David...it really is much appreciated.

Kind regards,

I had initially omitted it to save on a little screen real estate (even although it is so little). On reflection it does look better with it in.

I will update the file for future downloads ;)

Don't know if it is relevant, but the updated data appears ok in Iexplorer 8, but not in Firefox 3.0.13e
Picks up the update time and displays the links.. Current ... today etc, but not the data
Seems to work ok with iphone.

Have you tried updating Firefox to the latest version v3.5.2

the iphone version gives unpredictable results on most browsers -- it's specifically designed for viewing on an iphone using the safari browser. It uses some javascript code which is specific to the Safari browser.

Most current browsers (ie8, FF 3.5) can handle (and ignore) it but that is not how it is designed to be used.

Sorry, if I confused you.
I realise that your script was not designed for "normal" browsers. Thought the info might be of use.

Thanks for the reply David.

Just about finished my modifications to your excellent html coding...as I said before I would have had absolutely no idea where to start but I was able to take yor code and customise it to my own requirements...many thanks! :D

I would appreciate any comments - good or bad - on my website...with and without the iPhone.

Looks good both on a Mac and the iPhone -- The 'maps' link has a spurious webtag (<#forum>) and the map is tiny, should it be bigger? (it's maybe 2 inches tall on my screen and I can't read a word on the map)

Love the twitter icon :D

Thanks for taking the time to look at my website David...praise from you is praise indeed! 8-)

Did you check out the heavily customised About page? ;)

I know about the spurious forum webtag on the Maps page but the problem is I can't correct it? :?

For some reason the whole navigation bar on the Maps page is different to all of the others and the webtag is cut & pasted exactly the same as every other page but the font is slightly different and no matter what I do I can't get it to display Forum properly which was why I removed it completely in the first instance - I only put it back when I was adjusting the pages after installing your iPhone html codes yesterday.

It seems to be ignoring the weatherstyle.css for some reason even though I took out the text-transform: lowercase; bit? :?

You can't see the map full screen on your Mac? :(

Shows fullscreen here on a PC with IE7/8 & Chrome although with Chrome on the navigation bar on the Maps screen the text formatting is left justified instead of centred...definitely something funny going on with that page...

Maybe someone with more knowledge than myself would care to take a look and offer some guidance please?

It's the same on my PC -- anyone else tried?

I had a peak at the code but I could not see the complete XML as the parser says there is an error in line 170 of the file mmlconfig.xml. Not sure it is linked to my problem, but who knows.

The XML error is that you have </map63> instead of </map6> but I don't know if that is related to the size problem either.

Also your 'container' starts:

Code: Select all

<div id="flashcontent" align="center" class="autosize">< ...
But you don't appear to have autosize declared or in your stylesheet.
