Re: iPhone site for Cumulus
Being a bit of a novice with this, inside the archive there is a macosx one I assume I don't use that as I'm a PC user?
So I only upload the icumulus directory and not the _MACOSX one?

Yes, that's correct -- sorry, I will remove the _MACOSX as it is not required.tomcatuk wrote:Being a bit of a novice with this, inside the archive there is a macosx one I assume I don't use that as I'm a PC user?

Re: iPhone site for Cumulus
This is working great, but I wonder if someone might coach me on adapting it a bit. I would like to be able to tap an icon on my home screen and pop up a screen that gives me "time and temperature" from my home weather station (in large print).
Ideas or directions would be very welcome, Lex

Can I just confirm what you are looking for?
You wish an icon on the home screen of the iPhone page that pops up a small window showing only the time and temperature? So it does not change the page, more a information popup? Will the time and temperature come from the cumulus realtime file or somewhere else?

Re: iPhone site for Cumulus
I think it would be cool to have an icon on the face of the iphone (home screen) that one could tap to bring up an easy-to-see Time and Temp. The data could be pulled from the realtime.txt upload or iphone.txt. I thougtht it might simply be like t&t.htm -- perhaps it would simply use a safari shortcut...

Re: iPhone site for Cumulus
this t&t page might include a button/link to your cumulus iphone app. it might just be the first page (index.html) of icumulus...

Re: iPhone site for Cumulus
Thinking out loud works sometimes. I achieved my objective by editing your index.HTML page. Now when I click my weather safari shortcut, I get time and temperature in large print at the top of the page, with your menu below it. Thanks, cheers, Lex

Re: iPhone site for Cumulus
The HTML editing which I did produced the following result:

My family and I find this very functional. I'm sure the coding is wrong, but the result works for me. Cheers, Lex

Re: iPhone site for Cumulus
That's quite nice having a front status page
Maybe needs a little tweak as there is a small scroll needed to see all the data and the date/time is repeated twice. The title tag has gone wrong too.
should be
I'm working on some changes to the template and I could incorporate a 'front page'
Code: Select all
