Fine Offset WS3081, Byte 0 = 09 Byte 1 = 94

Post by uncle_bob »

Hi all.
I just replaced my weather station with a WS3081. It has been working ok for a week, then I noticed it stopped reporting to Cumulus with Cumulus reporting a Byte 0 = 09 Byte 1 = 94 error and telling me to reset it the station, which I did to fix it.

Does anyone know what this error means? Hopefully it's not going to recur frequently.

BTW, Easy Weather could communicate with the station ok when I fired it up while Cumulus was reporting this error.

Thanks in advance Bob.

The station firmware is supposed to write two particular values to those bytes to indicate that it initialised the station correctly, and Cumulus checks for those values. Other values presumably indicate some kind of error, but only Fine Offset have that information.

Easyweather apparently ignores those bytes. You can, if you wish, make Cumulus do the same: http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/FAQ#When_I ... ialised.22
