I think you have the wrong ID, or the wrong server. CWOP IDs start with CW, DW, or EW. But as you're an amateur radio operator, I believe you
can use your callsign, but you have to arrange that with CWOP first. See

Thanks, Steve, that was great information. According to the documentation, I need a validation code to use with my Amateur Radio callsign. I am hoping this will be the key.

I put my ham radio callsign in the internet configuration and -1 in the 'pass' field and the data never gets to APRS/CWOP..... any ideas?

Have you actually registered with CWOP? I had no problem getting info to show up, I was live about 3 minutes after I received my publishing ID, so that means they don't have a waiting period...
You might find your answer here:

One more thing: From the CWOP link Steve gave you....
3. What server should I use if my packet ID contains my amateur radio callsign?
- Use a server designator of "rotate.aprs.net" to send to the APRS Core servers (FIRST, SECOND, THIRD) or "rotate.aprs2.net" to send to the Tier 2 servers. Note that these servers require a validation code which currently licensed amateur radio operators can obtain from n5jxs at tamu dot edu or from russ at wxqa dot com.

Yes, to use your call sign, you also have to use the code they give you instead of -1.
