data file error ?

data file error ?

Hi Steve,
today when i got on my weather pc i had a flashing error light and these errors

Fix whatever it is on your system that is preventing Cumulus from writing to the log file. Permissions/anti-virus/something else.

Only by 'rewinding' in the usual way - stop Cumulus and copy the data files from one of the backup folders. Note that the resulting data from that point to the current time will not be as good as the data logged while Cumulus was actually running, as it uses the data from the logger.

Hi steve,
this is the only error i got atter back an i have fixed 3/3/2014 12:49:16 PM : Duplicate entry at line 1886 of dayfile.txt: 02/03/14. Please correct this by editing the file

Did you do the 'rewind'? Did you copy all of the files from the backup folder?

Hi Steve,

Yes i did
I stopped cumulus
I went to the backup folder then daily then I found 20140303000000
copied all files to data folder
restarted cumulus
that when i got the above error Beau

Hmm, yes, the dayfile.txt in the midnight backups already has the entry for that day, but the other files don't have the midnight entry.

You can just delete one of the entries. The first one should be the correct one, so delete the second one.

did i rollback the correct way?
then i usd day file editor to delete the last line

Yes, you did. But the daily backup files are inconsistent; dayfile.txt already has the entry for that day, and then another one gets added when you start Cumulus again.
