website problem

Post by baggyone »

Hi,

I'm having a problem with images on my website. Any help would be appreciated. Think I've done everything according to the instructions.

I don't seem to have any images in the images directory on the website though if that makes any difference.

http://baggyone.bugs3.com/today.htm

Thanks

Chris

Turn on ftp logging in Cumulus, then after a web update, attach the ftplog.txt file here.

This is very similar to the problem someone else is having at the moment, but in their case the images are uploading but not the htm pages.

17:53:01:656 ! HighLevelAsync 0
17:53:02:546 Uploading C:\Cumulus\web\images\rain.png to rain.png
17:53:02:546 ! HighLevelAsync 0
17:53:02:546 FTP Command: PASV
17:53:02:546 02D58A20 TriggerDataSent 628
17:53:02:656 FTP Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode (93,188,160,49,116,7)
17:53:02:656 >|227 Entering Passive Mode (93,188,160,49,116,7)|
The file contents should be uploaded at this point
17:53:02:656 ! HighLevelAsync 0
17:53:03:546 Uploading C:\Cumulus\web\images\press.png to press.png
17:53:03:546 ! HighLevelAsync 0
17:53:03:546 FTP Command: PASV
17:53:03:546 02D58A20 TriggerDataSent 628
17:53:03:656 FTP Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode (93,188,160,49,115,12)
17:53:03:656 >|227 Entering Passive Mode (93,188,160,49,115,12)|

The content of the files is not being sent. If you look in the latest diags file, you will almost certainly see an error being returned by the server. I need to change the ftp logging so that the message gets logged there too.

I notice that you're using free hosting - do they actually allow .png files? Some free hosting has some very peculiar restrictions. You could try switching to active ftp mode.

As far as I can tell. No problem with png image files.

may make a webpage and upload an image manually to see if there is no problem there.

I did put the copy image files onto a folder on my computer but nothing showing in there either. :(

I noticed that some of the images that you've uploaded as part of the setup appear to be corrupt.

Getting there. Using a new host seems to be better. Although I have the gauges on the gauge page, there are still some images not getting there.

It appears to be the images that have to go into the images folder that are missing.

You''ll need to turn on ftp logging again, and look at the ftplog.txt file, and also the latest diags file for any errors. You can also try active ftp mode.

Bingo!! Found it in the diags log. Turns out there was not a image folder in my web subfolder in the cumulus directories. Make a new folder and there we go.

Thanks for the pointers.

Ah - well done. The site looks good. Just to clarify, do you mean that there was no images folder on your PC? The installer should have created that, it's odd that it didn't.

Yup, no images subfolder in /cumulus/web/

sorted for me though. Spotted it as soon as I went through the diags file.

I think you're looking at the wrong site; it's here now and looks OK: http://baggyone.elementfx.com/bostonweather/index.htm
