ended up with a Foscam 1905w webcam. I could only get ispyconnect to see/use webcam. yawcam won't connect to camera, so its ispyconnect, what's a good way to do timelapse???I was thinking of 2 options, currently ispyconnect uploads every 10 minutes to my web server overwriting the image file, this is displayed on my site.
option 1 : make ispyconnect create the time lapse.... how??
option 2 : let Foscam upload to my NAS ftp and some how convert to video
over all I need to minimise the CPU power if the computer taking care of cumulus(its a media centre)

That's a good sky view, not too much foreground.
Do you have any other images or was this the only one you got chance to take?
What sort of control do you have over things like exposure or shutter speed? I had to do a lot of playing around with exposure, brightness, contrast, etc., etc. until I got an acceptable image. What works for a clear blue sky doesn't always work what there are clouds or if it's a bit dark. All part of the fun finding out.
What are you planning in terms of time-lapse?

Re: webcan web page up and running, now time for the timelap
just got it setup a few hours before sunset.
have some basic settings which have helped, was a little purple in low light, IR is off of course.
it's set as 720p at The moment...
its uploading to my web site every 10 minutes.
hoping to have up to 5 videos of time lapse between 6am-9pm.
will have to use another site to house my time lapse as my ISP only has 50MB of space

I have hosting with Zuver and VentraIP. Reasonable disk allowance (20GB) and response times are OK, a bit better for VentraIP than Zuver but Zuver is only $4 per month.ace2 wrote: hoping to have up to 5 videos of time lapse between 6am-9pm.

only need a 100MB or so for the videos, thinking of putting them on a free hosting site, like x10hosting.com
I could just link my site to the video files!!!

Re: webcan web page up and running, now time for the timelap
Ace, I installed a 9805W back in December, I was unsure of the quality at the time due to it's wildly mixed reviews but I am very impressed with the ease of set up and the HD quality. As you say YawCam will not connect and is rather basic anyway. Foscams own software also needs trashing IMO.
Anyway, take a look at Blue Iris 3. I installed it and then found it also advertised on Foscams site but it is nothing to do with them. Ken, the writer, is extremely helpful and quick if you have any problems. BI3 also has it's own built in web server so you can access the realtime and stored images from any device on your network.
There is a support forum (of sorts) here.
You can install it for 28 days trial then you have to part with a few quid.
P.S. make sure you change the user/pass on your Foscam.
Oh, link to mine here, updated every 10 mins.

It seems i learnt a lesson, DO NOT ADJUST THE BRIGHTNESS AT NIGHT TIME TO MAKE IT LOOK REALLY BLACK!!!!!!
My picture is now way to dark..
