No rainfall being displayed

Hi all, my question is has anyone had a problem with a WS1081 not recording any rainfall. I have not seen any rainfall readings at all.
Is it possible that rainfall readings are turned off in cumulus or have I got a crook WS1081, everything else seems to be working ok with some readings randomly changing. At the moment I have a 92kmh High gust recorded for yesterday which is about 60km higher than it should be and I can't find where to edit it and it will just keep saying that it is the high wind gust for ever more. That value appeared when changing screens!
Can anyone help?

There is no setting in Cumulus to turn off rainfall, so your station is probably faulty, either a hardware issue or some kind of communication problem; particularly as your other readings appear to be affected. Has this just started happening recently? Have you tried changing the batteries in the transmitter?
There is information in the FAQ and the wiki regarding correcting high/low data:

Many thanks Steve. Batteries all been replaced, substitute tipping bucket tried, Cumulus been reinstalled and still no rain.
Might try the old Sinometer as there is no way to test anything other than by substitution.

Hi Don,
Several other members have reported similar problems recently, so
here are some typical suggestions from me and others. The "Maplin" station is basically just a standard WS1081.
Cheers, Alan.
Re: No rainfall being displayed, now CUMULUS runs on its own

Hi all, well I read all of the articles that were attached to the other list and went and swapped the rain and wind plugs and nothing changed the wind readings were still where they were supposed to be on the screen and there was nothing in the rain column. Now comes the confusing part, I took the TX module down from the pole to see if there was anything untoward around the sockets and found nothing wrong there so I decided a cuppa was in order, made it and decided to drink it in front of the computer and with the TX in my hand with no batteries in it lying on the table beside me I looked at the screen and it was running Cumulus as it should be!!!! but how! as it was not being fed any data and there was no loss of data messages, yet for all intents and purposes it was running correctly and if I didn't know better I would have watched it all day, still no rain. It was updating every thing as it would correctly including time, things happened normally including new records. I let it run from 1316 to 1515 and made some print outs of the screen and exited from the program a number of times and it restarted each time no problems. So where was it getting its data from???? Its got me beat. Looks like a weather station with ESP???? and no sensors.
What have I done wrong?? can anyone HELP.
Regards
Don

Perhaps someone nearby has the same weather station, and you are receiving data from their transmitter?
Re: No rainfall being displayed... NO other w/s in this town

Hi Steve, No such luck I am certain there is no other W/Station within this town on the same frequency this brand or any other. I am monitoring the frequency that mine is on with a receiver with a 0.1 microvolt @ 20db signal to noise ratio, sensitivity which is far greater than the receiver sensitivity of my W/S and nothing is being heard. This is a small county town of about 200 people and is 40 km from the next largest town and any farms would be at least 3 km away from the town and I would be able to hear them anyway if there were any up to at least 10 km away with my receiver/antenna combination.
