If you zip up the diags folder and attach it, I'll take a look at what's happening to the rain counter. It may be that your rain gauge - or the connectors or cables - were damaged in some way in the storm and is still recording 'phantom' tips. With Davis stations, the total and rain rate are supplied by the console, separately, to Cumulus, so it's quite likely that the console is being told by the ISS that this amount of rain has actually fallen. What's the console showing for today's rain?

Given you have a Davis it is likely it is the same as here https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=11485

Steve I will attach Diags but as the station is remote will perhaps take a day or two as I have family visiting this weekend will get them to you ASAP .
Thanks.

Yes, I could see what the Cumulus figure is for today's rain; I didn't need a bigger screen shot to see that ;)

I was asking what the Davis console was showing. But if you aren't able to get to the console, I can see how answering that would be difficult. I'm pretty sure you'll find you have some kind of issue with the rain gauge.

Have you been able to look at the station yet? Cumulus is just recording the rain figures that the console is giving it.

due to the winds and the position i was only able to look standing on the observation deck the iss is on a roof above i could not see any obvious damage i will have to wait for a decent day to get up there.
the console daily rain was showing 800.2 mm

You may find that the tipping mechanism has been dislodged or damaged in some way, so the reed switch is being triggered repeatedly.
