Yes, someone in our town found an egg on the lawn that a cook layed on a hot day. By the time they discovered it, it was almost cooked.

Maximum here today was 42.6 C at 15:40.

Yes, its been a hot start to the year. Up here its usually 3 or 4 degrees cooler than Adelaide and yet we've had nine 40+ days so far this year. :(

You clearly live further away now judging from one of your excellent night sky photos. What a small world. It had no industry back then. Just new houses, a school, a few shops and lots of bush!

It has changed enormously- about 10 years ago I drove around French's Forest and Belrose to look for the houses where I used to live- it's all completely unrecognisable! I used to run around in the bush there as a 4-6yo, its all gone now.
Yes, I'm about 300km north of there these days, much more peace and quiet, and darker skies :)
