Raw Data to Database

Post by DF3EI »

Hi, all,

I am currently setting up MkII of an unattended WS based on a PC running WXP and a WH2080. I would like to use Cumulus just for the communication with the station and otherwise store the retrieved data in a PostgreSQL database at short intervals. Which file would I preferably have to watch and process for such data, or is there indeed a better way?

Thank you for any suggestions, hints etc.

Best Regards from Berlin,

Jörg

The currently 'monthly' log file is the one that Cumulus updates periodically with the current data, see http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Monthly_log_files

Various people have devised methods of getting Cumulus data into an SQL database, either using the existing log files or by other methods. For example http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/ImportCumulusFile

Thanks, Steve, that looks good. I shall write a Windows service with C# to do the same. PHP is not my home ground ;-).

Great piece of software, btw. I wish the hardware was as good...

Best Regards,

Jörg
