Hi there,
I have looked at previous threads and the wiki on related issues but I regret that I still need a little help to find how to cleanly remove all unwanted rain data after calibration.
My question is... how do I simply remove unwanted rainfall data after performing a calibration so that all record of the calibration disappears from all records and log files?
I calibrated the VP2 rain gauge on Saturday and intend to do a repeat calibration in due course.
I believe I have successfully edited monthly records, all time records and "today's rain" so the dayfile, monthly and all-time records are now all showing the correct figures.
Unfortunately, the spike in rain due to the calibration is still showing on select-a-graph and I presume this means the raw data is still tucked away in a log file somewhere but I'm not sure where this might be. So.. please can I have some help on how to target and destroy this rogue data? I have read the wiki and some help files but must have missed the key point on how to do this.
many thanks for any help.
best
Simon

Re: Removing unwanted rainfall after calibration
Select-A-Graph is drawn from the data in the monthly log files.

Re: Removing unwanted rainfall after calibration
Many thanks Steve. Can I directly change / edit values in monthly log files and the save them?
Sorry if this is a commonly repeated question, I can't find the answer despite scouring wiki and help and forum.
I have downloaded cumulus toolbox and this seems to help but I regret that I am still having difficulty removing all records of high rainfall from our recent calibration. It is taking a longer time to remove all scraps of data because I am still a little confused about the best route into the software to clear out unwanted values.
thanks for any help,
Simon

Yes, best to do that with Cumulus stopped.sacmac wrote:Many thanks Steve. Can I directly change / edit values in monthly log files and the save them?
There's quite a bit of information in the FAQ and the wiki about correcting data - particularly rainfall; is that not helping?I have downloaded cumulus toolbox and this seems to help but I regret that I am still having difficulty removing all records of high rainfall from our recent calibration. It starts here: http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/FAQ#My_sta ... _figure.29 which links to the wiki entries about the log files, which also have information about correcting data.

Re: Removing unwanted rainfall after calibration
Hi Steve
many thanks, yes... the wiki is v helpful; I think I have now managed to remove the calibration rainfall rate spikes using toolbox (only). I think I was confusing myself by visiting log-file edit pages within cumulus and doubling up with toolbox. Checking rainfall rates on select-a-graph seem to show the matter is resolved. many thanks for your patient replies.
