Program not responding.............

My program stopped sometime during the night and when I clicked on the error light all the computer did was make a dinging noise. I closed the program thru task manager because program wasnt responding. Restarted program several times, changed USB ports also. Still no response. Program is now back to showing on screen but no response from anything you try to go to in it. Data on the desktop display is working.
