Average Wind Speed

Hi Guys last few days my average wind speed has disappeared when I check my statistics. I go into "This period" and put the day before in and collate the figures that way but all there except the Average wind speed. Any ideas please.

The average wind speed on the 'this period' display is calculated from the values in the monthly log file, so you may have a problem in that file. It would normally flash the error light (and clicking on the light would show the error) if that were the case. Presumably it's not doing that?
If you zip up the diags folder and attach it, with your January log file, I'll take a look.

Hi Steve the error light was flashing and it mentions an error C\Cumulus\Data\Jan14logtxt. I make my way to it but its just a load of numbers.

The error message will tell you which line to look at. Use a decent text editor like Notepad++. It may be a blank line or a corruption, both of which will be obvious in Notepad++.

Hi Steve I think I have attached the zip folders for you to look at. Thanks.

Here's the error message:
29/01/2014 09:57:42.994 : Error at line 3120 of C:\Cumulus\data\Jan14log.txt : List index out of bounds (0)
29/01/2014 09:57:42.994 : Please edit the file to correct the error
Here's what the log file looks like at line 3120 when viewed in Notepad++
2014-01-31 08_20_16-C__Users_steve_Downloads_Jan14log.txt - Notepad++.png
It has a lot of extra space characters on the beginning of the line. Here's what it looks like with those space characters deleted:

The diags file for when Cumulus was running at the time of that corruption ends abruptly, so it looks like the PC crashed (or Cumulus crashed?) at that time, which is probably what caused the corruption.

Hi Steve, I could not see the large gaps that you have posted when I checked the dates. How do I go about fixing this?

Stop Cumulus and open Jan14log.txt in a text editor - Notepad++ is better than Notepad, but the spaces are visible even in Notepad:

Click the mouse at the start of the line with the spaces, to put the cursor there. Hold down the delete key until all of the spaces have been deleted and that line looks like all of the other lines. Save the file, close the text editor, and start Cumulus again.
