I apologize if this has already been addressed. What are the steps to set up Cumulus to send tweets to twitter? I created a twitter account, but how do you create the twitter.txt file I read about in the help topic, what do you include in it etc.
In the user id for twitter in the internet settings, do you include the "@" symbol?
If you can't tell, I am clueless when it comes to twitter.
Thank you

Re: Setting up Cumulus for Twitter
The content is your choice, but I suspect you wont be able to put too much in because of Twitters character limitation.
Try the following :-
Weather from yourname <#time>
Temp is <#temp> ºC
Wind is <#wspeed> mph
Total Rainfall, so far today, is <#rfall> mm
Good luck,
Alan

Thank you both.
Since I am now snowed in, weatherman said 1-3 inches, I got 6-10 and with drifting snow I can't get out of my driveway. I will have time today to work on this.

Re: Setting up Cumulus for Twitter
What version and build of Cumulus are you using? You'll need to be using the latest version (1.9.4 build 1087) because Twitter broke the previous versions.
If you're using the latest version, it's probably best to use the built-in message to begin with before creating a custom message, until you get it working. Try removing your twitter.txt file, and see if that helps. If not, turn on the debug logging in Cumulus and look at the current diags file to see what responses are coming back from Twitter.
