Coinciding temperatures

Post by parksfour »

I live in the southern part of the continent of Australia. It may be possible that your news has reported that we are suffering a heat wave.
This question is a purely personal but a practical one.
Is it possible to have an alarm that sounds when the outside temperature and the inside temperature are the same?
The reason I ask is that I could determine when it would be best to either shut or open the windows and doors to either exclude the heat from the house (as the outside temperature rises) or else allow cooler air the chase the temperature from the inside house as the outside temperature drops). The reverse could apply to winter days to keep the heat in the house.
My reasons are purely personal. I am looking to my comfort both physical (temperature) and fiscal (energy bills). If I can either open or close up the house at the point that the temperatures coincide I may be able to use either less air-conditioning or heating.
I have a Fine Offset weather station) (Model WH3081) and am running Cumulus 1.9.2 and Build 1032.
Which raises another question - Is it necessary to install Cumulus 1.9.4? The current version seems to work OK apart from an occasional loss of communication between the station and the inside monitor which doesn’t seem to have anything to do with Cumulus. Are there any new features? Perhaps there is an alarm that tells when the indoor and outside temperature coincide.

No, there's no such alarm. Cumulus Toolbox may allow you such an alarm, if you want to look at that.

You can continue to use 1.9.3 if you wish, but note that I only offer support for 1.9.4. There are a number of new features, and bug fixes. See the Announcements and News section of the forum.
