Possibly not a new topic [can't find any other references in forum], but why would Notepad on my W7 O/S automatically open the data files, but I have to select Notepad or Wordpad from a list of programs to open the diags files for the first time? After opening the first time, the file extensions disappear, but they will now open automatically when double clicked. Anyone else had this occurrence, or is it just my computer sensing my illiteracy through body radiation or something? Have had Cumulus on board [and opened at least once every day], for 20 days now, but only have diags files from 11-1-14.

Re: W7 Notepad
The data logs have a '.txt' extension, which is associated with Notepad by default. The diags files have extensions '.001', '.002' etc, which don't have associations by default (although some 'unzipping' programs register for those extensions) so you have to tell Windows that you want to use Notepad the first time.
You may find it less confusing if you turn on the display of file extensions for all files (i.e. turn off the 'hide' setting): http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/wind ... =windows-7
Only the latest 10 diags files are kept.

Re: W7 Notepad
Thanks, Steve. Just my computer illiteracy shining through. Don't know why council moved me to a desk job! Just wondering, would it be possible in a future tweak, to add a full page expansion button and/or a floating vertical axis [like in the elevation profile in Google Earth that shows time and value when moved with the cursor], to the select-a-graph function? Sorry, don't know the exact terminology for this stuff.

Re: W7 Notepad
There are some things that I can do with the graphs, but I'm limited by the functionality provided by the third-party component that draws them. And at the moment I'm really only bug fixing while I try to work on the cross-platform version of Cumulus.

OK, Steve,
I think I understand all of that.
