Hi
After a ball hit my weather station earlier today, I now have errant Rainfall Rate Maximum of 82.9mm/hr. I have modified the today.ini file and know how to edit the all time records. What I don't know is what the previous record was. Is there a way to find this out?
thanks,
Mark

Yes, this can be tricky. But Cumulus keeps a backup each time it starts, so you could take the alltime.rec file from the latest backup from before the problem occurred and copy that over the current one (with Cumulus stopped). This assumes you haven't broken any other genuine records in the meantime; if so you'll need to make a note of those before you start, and restore them using the editor. Take a copy of your current alltime.rec before you start fiddling.
It would be useful if Cumulus kept a log of all changes to all time records, to make restoring them easier; I'll look into doing this.

Thanks for that; I'll give it a try.

A bit too hasty on my reply! As Cumulus lives on its own PC, it's been running since 30/5, so quite a job to check what other records have been broken. I know my rainfall records went on the 7th June, so I would lose them. Is there another way to resolve this?
Sorry...

Open dayfile.txt in Excel or similar, and sort on the maximum rainfall rate column (column 13 - see data file format in help file). The highest row will give you the value, date and time that you need to set your all-time record to.
