I'm sure this must have been answered on here before, but I can't find anything about it.
Does anyone know how long the data logging memory can store data before it gets overwritten? When I work it out based on one record written every 48 seconds and the memory holding 4080 records, I get 85 hours. But the little memory usage pie chart on the bottom right of the screen is saying it' only an eight full even though it's been on for five days now.
Basically I'm trying to work out how long I could leave my computer switched off for without losing data. Not that it matters greatly I suppose since I haven't had my my computer switched off for a whole day (or a whole day off work) since April 2002, but I live in hope.

Re: WH1080 data logging memory capacity
It doesn't save every 48-second reading, it saves them at the interval you tell it to. I think the default is 30 minutes, and you can set the interval using either EasyWeather or my SetLogger utility. I think EW allows you to set it down to 5 minutes, and my utility allows you to set it down to 1 minute.
At a 5 minute interval, the logger will hold about 14 days worth of data.

Ahh, now it makes sense. Which is also why Cumulus has the data log option which I'd set to 5 minutes. Fourteen days is a whole lot more than I expected. I don't really suppose there's much point in turning it down to one minute, even in Scotland the weather would be hard pushed to change significantly between more than two moods in a five minute period.
