Wind speed and wind gusts instances are way too high

Hi all-scanned the forum but didn't see anything relating to the issue I have.
My Cumulus software is reporting wind speed and wind gusts that are way too high. See the station link below and look at the history:
http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstat ... =KMAIPSWI7
Note daily speed and gusts of 115 MPH and a history peak at 229 mph. Clearly these are incorrect, how can I resolve this?
No multipliers have been set and except for these occurrences, daily wind and gusts appears to be accurate.

'Spikes' are a common problem with Fine Offset stations, and you can get Cumulus to filter them out using the 'spike removal' settings on the calibration screen.
However, looking at your readings, that may not be the (only) problem in this case. Have you definitely selected the correct station type in Cumulus? i.e. the Fine Offset type with or without solar sensors, as appropriate? Yours presumably does not have solar sensors, so you need to select "Fine Offset (WH1080 etc)".
You also need to make sure you're not running Easyweather (or any other weather station software) at the same time as Cumulus. Or two instances of Cumulus - your WU rapid fire pressure readings are oscillating between two widely differing values; this is often an indication that you have two instances of Cumulus running.
If none of the above apply, please zip up the diags folder and I'll take a look.

Thank you Steve,
I do have the station set as Fine Offset WS1080, however, I have also had WeatherBug and Weather Exchange software running at the same time Cumulus was live, simply for checking the reporting time and accuracy in those systems. I'll turn those off and set the spike removal.
If I want to get rid of those current readings or high wind speeds, can I simply delete the entry form the .txt files?

Yes, you can stop Cumulus and edit any of the files. But you will likely have a lot of invalid data to fix/remove.
The formats of the files are in the help and the wiki, and there's also some information about correcting data in the FAQ and/or wiki.
Do either of those applications you've mentioned actually access the station, rather than data on the web? I thought they just got their data from the web? It's only applications which are accessing the station at the same time as Cumulus which will cause problems. You still appear to have two separate uploads to WU going on at the same time.

Both were just pulling from the web updates that Cumulus was feeding but sometimes settings such as temperature didn't coincide with each other.
I also have an issue with precipitation history, up to a few days ago I was at 1.23 in, now it displays 0 for the week, month and year.

I suspect that all these problems are related, and I strongly suspect that you have two instances of Cumulus running.

Steve, you were correct. I had FOUR instances of Cumulus running as I have four profiles on the PC. Since I placed Cumulus in the C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup folder, each profile that logged in had an instance running. I've since removed from startup.
Now I'm just trying to figure the rainfall, all the .txt files have the correct values but the display for all fields is still 0.00

The monthly and annual totals are calculated from the daily totals in dayfile.txt, so you need to correct those and then restart Cumulus. See

OK, one last question...I think: I need to correct the wind gust info I have for those four days in January that had multiple instances of Cumulus running (6th through the 9th). Weather Underground they appear in the history and are really skewing the results (115mph, 132, mph and 229mph).
As an example, in link for the 9th below you can see the wind graph is skewed due to 3 errors in wind gust.

Do you know if Weather Underground uses those history files in C:\Cumulus\ for the online history of the weather station site? I've run through the text files, shut down Cumulus, found and removed the bad data entry in the .txt files and restarted Cumulus but the data on the website remains.

WU uses its own database, nothing you do in Cumulus can affect data that has already been uploaded to WU. You will need to edit your data in WU if you want to correct what WU displays.
