Web Page
I have read plenty on creating a website with Cumulus, however I wish to add a weather page to an existing site (I run a fishing club). Anyone got any info that would help, or links which may be useful.

Re: Web Page
It's just the same as using Cumulus for your entire site. Just create a directory on the server and configure Cumulus to upload its pages there, and then link to the index.htm page from your main site. Unless I've misunderstood what you want to do?

Re: Web Page
Steve, thanks for your comment. My index.html file is main page for current site. Weather information is to be on another page, eg, mydomain.co.uk/weather.html. Or am I misunderstanding?

Re: Web Page
My 'home' page (although there's not a lot on the site apart from weather) is http://sanday.org.uk/index.htm and I've create a directory on the server and named it 'weather'. Cumulus uploads the pages there, so the weather index page is http://sanday.org.uk/weather/index.htm and I link to that from http://sanday.org.uk/index.htm

Re: Web Page
Are all your sub folders and files contained in 'weather' folder, or are any in root directory?
Sorry for all the questions. My host is 123, don't know if you know them (Linux server I think).

Re: Web Page
The Cumulus ones are all under 'weather'. If you use the standard supplied web pages, that's how it has to be. It's exactly the same as if you were using Cumulus as your 'home' page, but it starts at the 'weather' directory instead of the top-level directory. The description and example in the Cumulus help even assumes that you will be doing it this way! Just copy the contents of the Cumulus webfiles folder on your PC into the weather directory on your ftp server, and configure the correct path to the weather directory in the Cumulus settings.

Re: Web Page
Thanks Steve,
Final question, I copied all files and folders located in 'webfiles' folder in cumulus to weather folder on server as instructed.
Do I need to copy anything from folder called 'web' in cumulus folder on PC up to my server?

Re: Web Page
I 'appear' to have done anything, but not getting a webpage. I created an index.html blank page with it located in 'weather' folder on server.
All uploads of all files done using Dreamweaver as opposed to Filezilla or other ftp client.
See attached file showing settings, error file and files in Dreamweaver explorer window.
Do you see any glaring errors? Is it my ftp host (123)

Re: Web Page
I had a look at the online documentation for 123-reg web hosting, and it says that for linux hosting, the root directory is public_html, so your weather directory is
public_html/weather
You're getting a connect timeout, which suggests that the server name you've used is incorrect.

Re: Web Page
You need to tick the Realtime.txt FTP box in Configuration / Internet / Web Settings as your realtime gauges at the the end of the gauges.htm page are not updating in realtime as the file is not being uploaded.

Re: Web Page
And at some point look at replacing that gauges page with the SteelSeries gauges, as they are much nicer.
