WH1081 Battery Change

Post by Skyline »

Hello to all,

Its battery change time again and I wondered if anyone knows how to change the console batteries on a WH1081 without losing all the settings, calibration etc? It takes an age to reprogram these. Cannot see this covered anywhere in the archive.

Many Thanks

Leaving it connected with a USB cable while you change the batteries should stop it resetting, I think.

OK - apologies in advance if it doesn't work for you. I've just tried removing and replacing the batteries in mine with the USB plugged in, and it didn't reset.

My WH1080 console batteries last for two and a half years now. PC is on 12h or more, every day. Would it be wise to change them soon, as a precaution measure?
And, should the PC be on 24h, will they last almost forever?

I am not sure if having the USB plugged in and the PC on actually completely prevents the batteries from being discharged by power switching. Maybe someone else knows. I change mine every couple of years as a precaution and the sensor batteries once per year as they dont last too well outside.
