Twitter feed won't initialise

I signed up a new Twitter account, put the username & password in the Internet settings screen, hit "enabled" and set the time to 1 minute to test the account. An hour on, nothing. I have restarted cumulus. I have checked the cumulus.ini file and it has the correct twitter username & password, enabled = 1, but auth tokens are empty.

Having read some of the previous threads I also ran a debug for a few minutes, but upon reading the log there has been no attempted communication with twitter.

I also made a twitter.txt file for good measure using the template on the wiki and put that in the program root.

What am I missing? It's going to be something silly isn't it?

And for reasons I will probably never understand (twitter servers?) it has sprung into life with no further intervention from me.

Twitter does seem to do that sometimes. Returns an error for a while and then is suddenly happy.

You were likely looking in the wrong log, by the way. The Twitter stuff gets logged to the diags files when the debug log is turned on. Can be confusing, and not like the way the rest of the debug log works.

Ah, ok, thanks Steve. Well that will explain why I found no mention of twitter in the debug log! It just did the hourly update with no issue, so seems to be ok now
