Ok, I had to do a reformat, on the pc, before i did this I copied the whole cumulus folder to my external drive,
presuming it has all the backups etc
i then formatted, then downloaded the latest version of cumulus and then overwritten the cumulus folder in c with the cumulus folder from my external drive presuming it would then read the backups etc
now cumulus wont show yesterdays recent extremes its all zeros!
and now when i go to my webpage it wont show yesterdays values same with the records values
I tried uploading the backup (from external) yesterday/record related files to my ftp webspace and same with the record files, and when i go to my webpage i can see yesterdays values and records
but when i update via cumulus it puts them values back to zero
help much appreciated

The 'yesterday' values are taken from the yesterday.ini file. It has to have today's date in it to be considered valid. If it does have today's date in it, and Cumulus isn't loading it, attach it here and I'll have a look.
Regarding your all-time records - is your system date format different after the reinstall? The 'records began date' is held in cumulus.ini (the Startdate line) and if the date format in there doesn't match your current system setting, you won't get any all-time records displayed.
What version of Windows are you using?

I am just checking my date and time formats ill get back to you

It needs to have
today's date in it to be valid. It has yesterday's date in it (29th), so those are the values for the 28th, which is why Cumulus isn't displaying them. But when Cumulus starts, if you haven't run it since yesterday, it should download the data from the logger and do a day rollover, at which point it should have some data for yesterday. I don't know why it apparently hasn't done the day rollover for the 29th. What is the Timestamp in today.ini?
And also regarding the all time records, when i try view them

Your system date format must have changed.

right i had a play with the regional settings and now cumulus will read all time records and no crash of the program, still will not read yesterdays extremes though
all values are zero
i tried loading my webpage and all works apart from yesterdays link is all zeros
and the records page is invalid "cannot be found, so what i have done is uploaded via ftp the recordsT file and the record.htm and when i reload the webpage the values in records link is fine,
right i have done a web update in cumulus and now the records is sorted
just leaves the yesterdays issue, heheheh just got your reply as i was posting this will have another play
Cheers

Judging by a couple of the times in there, it looks like it didn't do the rollover.
I assume you did the following:
Yesterday, before reformatting, stop Cumulus and copy the entire Cumulus folder.
Reformat, then today install Cumulus and before running it, copy the entire backup from yesterday over the new installation.
If that's what you did (and nothing else), you would expect the result to be just the same as if you hadn't done the reformat, but just stopped Cumulus yesterday and started it again today. It should have downloaded the data from the station and done the rollover.
Assuming the above is what you did, please zip up the contents of the Diags folder and I'll see if I can see what happened.

I can't work out what it is you've done, the diags files don't tie up with what I've described above. The latest pre-reformat diags file is from a run at 1250 yesterday. The earliest post-reformat diags file is for a run at 1050 this morning, but the previous run was not the last one from pre-reformat. And where have the old pre-reformat diags files gone anyway? They should still be there on your current system, if you copied the old install over the new one.
I think your best bet is to either carry on with what you have and let it sort itself out tomorrow (you'll have a day missing from dayfile.txt), or use a set of files from the Cumulus backup folder from before the reformat and restart Cumulus from those. It should then do the rollover for the 29th correctly.

anyways seems i have made a bo bo
I will take your advice and let it sort itself out

Well... maybe not. What you've described here is exactly what I'd have done. But for some reason the first run after that didn't work as expected.
