Cumulus Stopped functioning

Cumulus has been working perfectly for a couple of years

While I was away on Christmas holidays it stopped responding

on my return the Error light is flashing and "Error: no response" in the status bar

however I can't bring up the Error Log or access any of the menus. I can't shut it down either I have to go to task manager to kill it.

I have tried reinstalling it.
I have tried adding "Logging=1" to the cumulus.ini file to manually turn on debug but this is working either.

Any Suggestions ??

It sounds like you may have hit the 'USB lockup' problem, which requires a reset of the console, see various entries in the FAQ, e.g. http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/FAQ#Cumulu ... to_kill_it.

It also sounds like you are using an old version of Cumulus. If resetting the console doesn't help, zip up the diags folder and attach it, and I'll take a look.

By doing this I guess I loose the last 5 days data stored on the console

I am at V1.9.3, would you suggest upgrading first to see if this fixes it?

Yes, you will likely lose any data in the console.

Upgrading to 1.9.4 won't fix it; the console non-communication is not a Cumulus problem. 1.9.4 has a Cumulus fix which stops Cumulus requiring the task manager to kill it when the station isn't responding at start up.

OK thanks

Have done the reset and it now works

it seems to have down loaded some data but not all of it as I was hoping for the last couple of days which we have reached record maximums of 42degC +

Thanks for you help.
