I've pulled off the data using the Easy Weather software that came with the WS. I'm sorry not much help the data is in 30 minute intervals and I cant manipulate the data for shorter periods. The WS must by default log at 30 min intervals. I've attached a pdf graph for a 1 month period using the easy weather data. Same pattern as the cumulative data. Ill resort to the removal of the sensor with another to see if it makes any difference. I hopeful the supplier will replace it. Ill give an update when it comes through and I've tested it out. Thanks for the tech info Alan I got a bit of what you were interpreting many thanks. Marco

Hi Marco,

Yes, I believe that the default logging interval is set to 30 minutes, but can be changed within Easyweather to some other values. But Steve has written a utility specifically to set the logger interval (right down to one minute if required) without a need to touch Easyweather again. :)

The potential "dynamic range" of Lux values is indeed very large, e.g from 0.1 to >100k (but that's normally of more interest to photographers than meteorologists). So it's possible that FO have implemented a high/low sensitivity measuring arrangement, but a "manufacturing fault" is causing yours to malfunction in some way. Alternatively, the Solar Pod's embedded program code or calibration data might be corrupt, but either way it looks as if the Pod needs to be replaced by the supplier.

Cheers, Alan.

Just a quick update supplier/manufacturer is replacing the light sensor unit. The data and feedback from the forum was useful and assisted me greatly in getting a replacement. Should be here in a few days. Tx
