Windows Server 2012 FTP issues

Morning all, and Merry Christmas!
I have had Cumulus up and running for a few years - using a 1080 from Maplin linked to a server running windows 7, apache webserver and filezilla to transfer the files to the webserver.
Owing to other issues, I have had to replace the server hardware and am now running Windows Server 2012. This comes with IIS for both webserver and FTP. I have these up and running, and everything seemed ok. However, in the last few days I have been trying to get realtime data uploading to the webserver - I am using a cumulus.xml file from an android app config, transfering and processing this using 'realtime' via the 'files' tab. No matter what settings I use I simply cant get both the normal website files and the cumulus.xml (or a realtime.xml file) uploading successfully at the same time. I have used every combination of 'passive', 'rename', 'delete files' etc etc - but when the realtime is working the normal files fail to upload and vica versa.
There must be others using this combination os Windows Server and IIS, and I am hoping someone will be able to share their configuration so that I can get everything back up and running.
Thanks,
Neil
