Error 32701 when using IP logger

Hi, I am seeking a little help...

I have just set up my Davis Pro 2 using the IP logger and it is talking happily to Davis' own site Weatherlink.com

In my account details it reports a public IP address but this doesn't seem to work with Cumulus.

Under the VP/TCP/IP settings I have the TCP Port at 22222 and the public IP address reported via Weatherlink, with the Discon period set to 0.

I have searched in vain for previous problems on here that look the same, but most basic com errors seem to be with USB, can anyone suggest a solution for me so that my Cumulus program can pick up the data?

Please note I do not have a Cumulus window and Weatherlink window running at the same time.

Many thanks
Simon

You need the local IP address, not the public one. If the logger is set up to get its address by DHCP, then your router should be able to tell you what the address is. But if the Weatherlink software on your PC is connecting successfully, then it also ought to be able to tell you the address, I would have thought.

Very many thanks - that's my next challenge, finding a means of ascertaining the local IP address! Many thanks, I do appreciate it!

I am using a Mac Airport Time Capsule router into which the Davis IP Datalogger is connected. Although I have been able to see all the devices 'attached' to the router wirelessly, I cannot find any way to see what is plugged in physically.

Has anyone else here had this particular challenge? I appreciate trying to establish the local IP address of the data logger plugged into a Time Capsule isn't a Cumulus problem at all!

Thank you and Merry Christmas to all Cumulus users!
