Storing this years data before the new year starts

I'd like to be able to keep all the 2013 data so that I can see things all the details even after the end of the year. I guess Cumulus will start a new data record from 1/1/14 that may overwrite the 2013 year values. Is there a way to keep all 2013 data as it is on 31/12/13 to be viewed later when required (would this be viewable with Cumulus, if not then is it possible with another program)?

I'm assuming it's this year's highs and lows that you want to view after the year end? You don't say which version of Cumulus you're using (people seldom do!) but if you're using the latest version, or something not too old, Cumulus takes a backup of all the 'active' data files just after midnight, including year.ini, which is the file holding the records for this year. So one way to do it would be to make a second installation of Cumulus, run it and select "Easyweather (using .dat file)" as the station type (without supplying a file), so it doesn't try to read any data. Chose the same units as you 'live' installation. Close it down, and then copy the year.ini file from the backup folder (and any other files that you want) into the data folder of the new installation.
I think that should work, but I haven't tried it myself.
Note that you can get a subset of 'this year's highs and lows' for any year, on the 'This Year' screen. What I ought to do is change that display (which is very old and pre-dates the 'this year's highs and lows screen) so that it shows all of the same items.

Hi Dave. Never a bad idae to make backups eh?
As usual, Steve's advice is good.
What I also do is may copies of the monthly files to an external drive. These are stored in yearly folders for tidiness.
I also make a full backup of the whole Cumulus Program and Data folders every 3 months.
Might never use any of it but its their just in case

Thanks Steve (and Phil)
That does work Steve. I renamed the 'new' download Cumulus2013 just for my convenience and to make sure I didn't get confused with the active version. (Sorry about ver no. its the latest version and build).
I think from what you say about the subset on the 'This Year' screen that that might give me what I wanted to refer back to after the new year, but as I've only has Cumulus running since August I haven't seen what happens on a year change yet.
Anyway, I have the 'second' copy now so should be covered - I can always drop that copy if it proves not needed
Thanks for your help.
