Tricky Temperature Offset Question

Post by pvwxaustralia »

Hi,

Just wondering whether anyone knows whether it is at all possible to set cumulus to have a temperature offset applied only at a specific time of day.

Through vigorous testing I've discovered that the temperatures being reported by my station during overnight hours are approx. 2 degrees celsius to high. They are however correct during the day.

I want to be able to set cumulus to have a temperature offset of -2 during the night, and an offset of 0 during the day.

Ultimately, I'd love to have something like:

7pm offset: 0
7:30pm offset: -0.4
8pm offset: -0.8
8:30pm offset: -1.2
9pm offset: -1.6
9:30pm offset: -2.0
Remain there until 8am
8:15am offset: -1.5
8:30am offset: -1.0
8:45am offset: -0.5
9:00am offset: 0

Is there any way to achieve this with cumulus??

There's nothing in Cumulus itself that would allow this, and it's unlikely that I'll ever add anything to the level of detail that you're looking for. The only way I can think of that you could achieve this would be to have some kind of automated process which stopped and started Cumulus at the appropriate times and replace the cumulus.ini file with the settings you want.
