Wireless Connection to m PC

I have a WH1081 weather station. The receiver is currently connected to my PC via a USB cable. The cable is relatively short (I know I could get a longer one), is it possible to connect the receiver to the PC via a wireless or blue tooth connection if so how.
Thanks

I think you will find that will be no good as I doubt the receiver could power the adapter and if it could would not last very long as its battery powered. I guess you could run a power supply into but but meh would it be worth it.

To understand this correctly?
Your suggesting a RJ45 (usb) to Cat 5e adapter connected to the weather station - Then a similar adapter connected to the PC - with a cat5e cable joining the two.
Both connections on my weather station and PC are male connections into female.
Thanks

there are usb one end and rj45 the other end. you then connect then together with a cat5/6 patch cable. this extends the range of the usb up to about 100mts mine for the webcam is 30mts and works no problem. the 5 volt power is sent over the patch cable via 2 bunched pairs and the usb data over the other 2 pairs. the power is also used to regenerate the usb data signal. so you are extending the usb port on your pc over what ever distance you need.
hope this helps explain how these work and that it might also help over come your issue.

Hi,

Yes, Fine Offset "broke the (USB) rules" by putting a female "type A" socket on their Console (instead of a "type B"). But if you use their (also non-standard) cable then you will have the required USB male (type A) plug to connect to the RJ45 adapter.
Cheers, Alan.

I used to use a usb network hub like
http://www.belkin.com/networkusbhub/ but I changed my pc to windows 8.1 and it killed it.
It worked a dream until then.
